Welcome to the website of OPUS, a research project focused on the potential of web platforms as catalysts of European growth. On this website, you will find information about the project. Furthermore, this website is a platform on which project partners and stakeholders can communicate relevant issues, network and create profiles of relevant web platforms.

The OPUS project aims to evaluate how and in what ways the web contributes to growth in the EU, now and in the future. It includes a roadmap of web platforms and business evolution towards 2020. Once the case for the web is made, the relevant stakeholders will be engaged to arrive at a shared understanding on ways to unlock application and services development on a shared European web platform. This understanding will drive the formulation of possible lines of action for the commission to consider in stimulating web based growth in Europe.
